Celebrating each and every birthday is important, as well as other holidays; we love a party at program! Participating in Fiddlehead Therapeutic Care Farm Festival, Bowl For Kid’s Sake, local Festivals (like Maple Syrup Festival at Island Lake), Christmas and Volunteer Appreciation get-togethers, and BBQ’s at the center keeps our days interesting and busy.

As we move forward with programming it is our goal to increase our co-operation with other agencies in the area to provide service and intensify our community presence and participation. Partnering with the town to encourage more recreational activities, local art, and recreation therapists, and places like the food bank and other community service agencies is of great benefit to all involved. We would also like to increase the number of students we have throughout the year, by partnering with colleges, and universities to have a stronger student mentoring and placement program.

There is no doubt the ALAS program is growing and will continue to do so over the next few years. It is not our intention to grow to quickly, as creating a solid foundation is key to a successful and thriving program. Our goals are realistic and attainable to keep this in focus.
